Save the date: The Caring for Miracles Foundation's Third Annual Caring for Babies born too soon Symposium
Event Date: Saturday, 25 November 2023 - 1:30pmThe Caring for Miracles Foundation is excited to announce its third annual Caring for Babies born too soon Symposium under the theme: ‘ Protect the brain; change the trajectory- What’s new in Neuroprotection for Preterm Infants?’
The aim of the Symposium is to highlight the peculiar vulnerability of the preterm brain, the impact of even routine care practices on brain development and long term outcome and walk attendees through the most recent controversies and recommendations. There will be a multidisciplinary international group of presenters, addressing the topic and we are particularly excited that Dr Nils Bergman, one of the senior authors of the recently published WHO paper on ‘Immediate Kangaroo Care and survival of infants with Low Birth Weight’ graciously agreed to share his expertise.
The symposium is targeted at all medical and allied health practitioners who provide care to premature babies and their families, namely Neonatologists, Paediatricians, General Practitioners, Obstetricians, Neurologists, Radiologists, Respiratory Therapists/Physiotherapists, NICU Nurses, Anesthesiologists, Residents in training, Medical and Nursing students, Lactation Consultants, Psychologists and Social Workers. We also welcome parents and families of preterm infants and any interested community parties to the symposium.
Continuing Medical Education Certificates will be awarded.
Registration information will be provided closer to the date.
We look forward to seeing you there as we work towards ‘Optimal Healthcare for ALL newborns!’
