Graduates of MSc Sports Medicine launch business

February 19, 2024 - Heartiest congratulations to our MSc Sports Medicine graduates Dr Rishi Jagdeo (Trinidad and Tobago), Dr Maurice Fisher (Jamaica), and Dr T'shaka Patterson (St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Belize) who have recently launched their business SportsMed Caribbean Ltd. We are so proud of you.

SportsMed Caribbean Ltd. aims to address the existing gap in the region by fostering a unified group of doctors collaborating to enhance services and coverage for athletes. Dr. Patterson also announced the opening of the first ever center for Sports Medicine and rehabilitation services in St.Vincent on the 12th February 2024 (see video on their Facebook page).

In expressing their gratitude to Dr. Mansingh and Dr. Roopchand-Martin, they shared “our journey from being students to entrepreneurs has been significantly influenced by the foundation laid during the MSc in Sports Medicine programme (2020 to 2022). The expertise and mentorship provided by you have been instrumental in shaping our professional paths.”

Reacting to the good news, former Head of the Mona Academy of Sport, Dr. Sharmella Roopchand-Martin, declared, “very proud of what you have done, and it is good to see you all living up to the expectations we have for our graduates.”
