The seminar featured presentations by Keith Wellington, President of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA), who shared insights from ISSA Schoolboy Football research data, and Dr. Ramon Hunter, who explored key issues surrounding injury management and athlete welfare.

The discussion on grassroots football was led by André Virtue, Director of Ballaz International Group, and Andrew Edwards, Chairman of Genesis Academy and former Jamaica Under-17 and Under-20 National Coach. Both presenters highlighted the importance of structured development pathways, coaching education, and community involvement in nurturing young football talent.

A special feature of the seminar was athlete testimonials from former Omar Cummings and Omar Lawrence, who shared their personal experiences and reflections on the journey from youth football to the professional game.

The Faculty of Sport congratulates the MSc Sport Business Management students on the successful execution of the seminar, which provided an excellent platform for knowledge sharing and dialogue on the future of football in Jamaica.
