The Faculty of Sport is pleased to host the visit of Melbourne Polytechnic Representatives, Stephen Connolly and Mark Burchell, during a turf reconnaissance visit to the Caribbean region from January 30 - February 19, 2024. This represents the start of an initiative to develop an International Sports Turf Certification for curators and grounds staff in our part of the world. “One of the most revolutionary transformational initiatives to hit the Caribbean in decades.”

That’s how University of the West Indies (UWI) Cave Hill Campus Deputy Dean, International Partnerships and Business Development of the Faculty of Sport, Amanda Reifer has described the collaboration between UWI and the Melbourne Polytechnic of Australia.

In fact, Reifer said she expects the partnership to “revolutionise the sporting industry from the perspective of building capacity in this specialist area.” - Barbados Today.

The team will visit Jamaica - Barbados - St. Lucia - Guyana - Trinidad.
