First Sport Valedictorian

The Faculty is so proud of its first valedictorian, Alexandria Douglas.

See below an extract of her valedictory speech delivered at the St. Augustine graduation ceremony on Saturday, October 26, 2024

“We are about to become some of the key pillars tasked with building our future. In the wide, green pastures that is sport and culture, we have just earned our shovels to start digging our own foundations—levelling uncertain avenues and clearing paths for  our subsequent peers to know exactly what doors they should knock on. We are going to help the next Julien Alfreds, the next Akeem Stewarts, and the next Samantha Wallace-Josephs with our  future storytellers and actors graduating alongside us.

We are the next sporting professionals, going to bring glory to a field that is more than just background noise on a TV screen. Sport is more than just the Olympic stage; it is the soil of change, where seeds of science, strategy, and innovation grow. It can be the future of a country.”
