Redesign of The UWI system-wide/ ’Centre’ website

Welcome to the NEW www.uwi.edu

The University Marketing & Communications Office in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Information Officer is pleased to introduce the new www.uwi.edu.

www.uwi.edu is the UWI’s system-wide/’Centre’ website which serves as the primary digital asset in helping our University to achieve its strategic goals and objectives, and a key component of The UWI Digital transformation strategy.

In a purposely phased transition process, www.uwi.edu will gradually continue to evolve as a fresh design and improved web experience, as part of promoting a cohesive single UWI brand consciousness.

The primary focus of these priority pages has been to:

1. Design and maintain a more modern, world-class, user-centred web presence that better supports the University’s mission and strategic goals.

2. Enhance the overall website user experience and ensure that the University’s diverse audiences are able to access the information they seek.

3. Improve existing natural search traffic and ranking performance.

4. Ensure optimal website accessibility on all major browsers and device types.

5. Effectively leverage this key web asset to grow our business in areas such as UWI Global Online, and amplify critical elements of our unique brand value propositions and development priorities connected to our Triple A Strategy.

Award-winning

Earlier this year, the design of this new www.uwi.edu was entered in the 9th Annual Education Digital Marketing Awards. On November 1, 2021, it was announced that the site emerged as a Gold Award winner from among 1000 entries in the Institutional Website- Update/Refresh category. The Education Digital Marketing Awards programme recognises the best educational websites, digital content, electronic communications, mobile media and social media.
