At The UWI.”
Established as a single residential campus catering to twelve Caribbean countries in 1948, classes at the University College of the West Indies located in Mona, Jamaica began with 33 students in the field of medicine. For a decade the College was regional in focus and orientation, the Extra Mural Department developed adult education outreach programmes in the Caribbean. As the University College of the West Indies grew and expanded its offering’s, other landed campuses were established.
