Message from the Pro Vice Chancellor
Welcome to the University Office of Planning (UOP). The office is one of the Units under the Vice Chancellery which is headed by a PVC who reports directly to the Vice Chancellor. The office has four core portfolio areas: strategic planning, institutional research, project management, and academic and industry partnerships. One of the core functions of the office is the preparation and monitoring/ assessment of The University’s strategic plan. It also conducts institutional research in order to inform operational and strategic planning efforts. Further, the UOP helps the wider UWI to facilitate greater academic/ industry partnerships in order to improve its alignment with industry. In addition, the office also works closely with other units and the centre in the UWI system, to better streamline their business processes to create greater efficiencies across the university and reduce the cost of its operations. The next few years promises to be an exciting time at the UWI as we roll out the Triple A strategy, I therefore; invite you to be a regular visitor to our website, to follow the developments in the UWI as we move to become more accessible, aligned and agile in our operations.
