Taking Caribbean Sport to a Higher Level
The Faculty is pleased to bring to you Episode 2 of our Trailblazers in Sports series. The series seeks to highlight the achievement of sporting luminaries from within the Faculty, The UWI, the region and beyond.
Our second interview was held with 2021 BSc Sport Sciences graduate from the Cave Hill campus, Taahir Bulbulia. At the Barbados National Youth Awards 2022 ceremony in February, Taahir received the Conrad Hunte Award for his contributions to sports development.
In 2021, Taahir was recognised for his efforts in Sport and Youth Development by the Commonwealth where he was nominated for the Commonwealth Youth Award and was among the top 20 youth leaders in the entire Commonwealth. He has served in various capacities as a Youth Ambassador for Barbados to various International Organisations. Taahir lives by the motto of positively impacting every life he interacts with.
Taahir is now a Business Development Consultant, where he works with the National Transformation Initiative which is tasked with charting the Transformation agenda for Barbados & Export Barbados.
Do meet Taahir in our interview on the Faculty's YouTube channel @uwifacultyofsport as he shares words of wisdom for students graduating with Sport degrees. Interview link
