Excellent 2024 UWI SPEC International Half Marathon

The UWI SPEC International Half-Marathon was organised in partnership with the National Association of Athletics Administrations and the TT Olympic Committee and is accredited by AIMS and World Athletics.

This year’s 18th edition of The University of the West Indies (The UWI) St. Augustine Campus’ International Half-Marathon and 5K spotlighted the work of The Dyslexia Association, raising awareness and twelve thousand dollars ($12, 000.00) for a worthy cause. The association is a registered non-governmental organisation (NGO) that supports dyslexics, parents, teachers, and members of the wider community. Their laudable efforts align with the theme of this year’s race: A Sound Mind and a Healthy Body.

Tafari Waldron claimed victory in one hour, nine minutes and 53 seconds (1:09:53) for the males while the female winner was Samantha Shukla who finished after one hour, 37 minutes and 06 seconds (1:37:06).
