CAIHR in Cartegena
A team from CAIHR attended the 30th Congress of the International Society of Hypertension (ISH2024) in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia from September 19th to 22nd, 2024. During the conference, the team engaged with global leaders in hypertension research and established potential collaborations.
Dr Nadia Bennett presented a poster entitled: "Vascular Growth Factors and Arterial Stiffening in Young People from the 1986 Jamaica Birth Cohort".

CATCH Steering Committee Meeting
Following the meeting the team also attended the Steering Committee Meeting for the Caribbean and South America Team Based Strategies to Control Hypertension (CATCH) study which involves researchers from Jamaica (CAIHR, University of the West Indies), Colombia (University of Santander) and the USA (Tulane University). The CATCH Study is an NIH-sponsored implementation study to improve hypertension control in Jamaica and Colombia.
