2025: The Government of Jamaica Ministry of Health and Wellness: Jamaica Health and Lifestyle Survey IV – Dr Trevor Ferguson, Novie Younger, Shelly McFarlane
There is mounting evidence that there is a need for use of data gathered from national surveys such the Jamaica Health and Lifestyle Survey IV to inform policy that can mitigate behavioral and other health-related risk factors. Behavioral practices can be a major contributor to health problems linked to three key areas that are the basis for monitoring and surveillance in our public health system. These key areas are chronic non-communicable diseases, family and reproductive health and violence and injuries. This JHLS IV will provide plausible national estimates on factors associated with healthy lifestyles in the Jamaican population. This information will support the development of programs to encourage persons to engage in healthy lifestyle practices.
