2023: Inter-American Development Bank Title: Development of a study to prepare an early childhood violence prevention parenting program for implementation at scale in Jamaica Investigators – Prof Helen Baker-Henningham

The study will assess the acceptability, feasibility and effectiveness of an early childhood, violence prevention parenting program integrated into preschool provision with caregivers of children aged 2-6 years attending their preschool. This includes: 1) testing caregiver recruitment and retention strategies, 2) documenting caregiver attendance at sessions and teachers’ compliance in conducting the sessions, 3) measuring the quality of session delivery using supervisor observational checklists and 4) evaluating the effect of the intervention on caregivers’ attitude to violence and use of violence against their child.
