A small ceremony was held at The UWI Museum on Monday, March 27, 2017 to celebrate the presentation of a bursary in the amount of US$2,000 to the Open Campus of The University of the West Indies (UWI) awarded by UWI alumnus, Mr. Lloyd C. Stanford and family. Mr. Lloyd Stanford is, among other things, a former Canadian Federal Civil Servant who worked on multiculturalism as a central feature of Canada's federalism. Professor Kevin Fenton is the Director of Health and Wellbeing at Public Health England. Prior to that he was Director of the United States National Centre for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD and TB Prevention. He spent his childhood in Jamaica. His father was Head of the science department at Excelsior High School and his mother was a nurse at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI). He pursued a Major in Computer Science at UWI and then graduates with an MD from the UWI Faculty of Medical Sciences, where he was elected Class President for 1985-86,
