About the Lisa Gore Seifart Scholarship at The UWI: Empowering Education
One of Jamaica’s leading housing development companies, Gore Developments Ltd., has made a significant investment in the Endowment Fund at The University of the West Indies (The UWI). The contribution made during the UWI Global Giving campaign in 2020, continues a longstanding relationship that the company has had with the regional University aimed at enhancing access to education.
In memory of their daughter, who passed away in July 2020, The Lisa Gore Seifart Scholarship, was established for students pursuing studies in Psychology, at the undergraduate or graduate levels, commemorating her legacy as a Psychologist. This scholarship supports aspiring Psychology students at The UWI fostering the next generation of Early Childhood educators and counselors. The partnership exemplifies The Gore Developments Ltd's commitment to education and societal progress.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that Phillip and Christine Gore's unwavering dedication to education is well aligned with The UWI’s goal to prepare our graduates to effectively address the social challenges in our communities and that The University of the West Indies acknowledges education's cardinal role as a conduit to emancipation.
UWI Global Giving: Fostering Impact
UWI Global Giving provides a platform for UWI's community, including alumni and supporters, to contribute to the university's growth and Caribbean development. By investing in education and human resources, this initiative aligns with UWI's mission to address societal challenges and uplift communities, echoing the values of the Lisa Gore Seifart Endowment Fund.
