Seamless Cross Campus Collaboration

M365 Overview

The UWI's strategic plan 2017-2022 is centred on the premise of a ‘One UWI’ vision aimed at revitalizing Caribbean Development through the creation, strengthening and maintenance regional and international linkages thus building on the institution’s unified intellectual force. With the advent and subsequent rapid expansion of the web-based teaching and learning, numerous tools have been developed and implemented to facilitate this shift and Microsoft’s Office 365 is one such tool.

This tool offers students, lecturers, administrators and staff free, cloud-based access to e-mail, calendars and contacts (Exchange Online); document storage and sharing and website management (SharePoint Online); instant messaging, presence, and audio and video conferencing (Skype for Business); and the Microsoft Office productivity suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote (Office Web Apps). This host of features fits perfectly with The UWI’s goal of improving the quality of teaching and learning across the region.
