As you embark on your exciting UWI journey, I'm thrilled to introduce you to something truly special: The One UWI Responsible Futures (RF) Programme. This isn't just any programme—it's a transformative experience led by the dynamic UWI STAT Regional Ambassadorial Corps and Guild Presidents, renowned for their passionate climate action and advocacy. You're stepping into a community where sustainability isn't just a buzzword—it's a way of life.

So, what does sustainability mean at The UWI? It means ensuring social equity and protecting our planet's life-supporting ecosystems for present and future generations. The United Nations defines it as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” Here at UWI, we take this to heart. We want every student, graduate, and stakeholder to have a ‘sustainability mindset,’ ready to make a positive impact on the world.

Our Responsible Futures (RF) Programme is an all-encompassing approach to integrating sustainability and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into everything we do. From our academic and co-curricular activities to our operations and infrastructure, sustainability is woven into the very fabric of our institution. You will soon hear more about SDG focused civic engagement possibilities (clubs, associations, & service projects) through your Campus Offices of Student Services and Development.
