Overview

The growth of cross-border study, knowledge, and internationalisation of education programs during and after COVID-19 has driven an increase in the demand for professionals with advanced knowledge and practical training in international education leadership, theory, policy, practices, and global advocacy to transform the world. The Master’s Degree in Sustainable Educational Leadership and Management (SELM) is designed to provide students with a deep immersion in the practical and theoretical dimensions of sustainable educational leadership and management, human resources and facilities management, transformational leadership, instructional leadership, and management, leading sustainable development initiatives and approaches to education for sustainable development, project management, and proposal writing.

In response to the current capacity-building need for educational leaders to adopt a global perspective and holistic approach to address complex educational issues and challenges, innovative leadership and management development will be essential for organisations in all sectors to integrate sustainable development goals (SDGs) into strategic plans and operational activities. It will also provide the required skills and competencies to help leaders exploit opportunities that they will encounter as they seek to provide the highest quality sustainable educational leadership experiences.

The balance of educational leadership and sustainable development principles (UNESCO, 2012) provides a strong context that the educational leaders and other stakeholders can use to promote, support, and sustain effective teaching and learning, sustainable educational management, policymaking, and leadership that focuses on how to achieve the public policy goals and skilled-labour market requirements of the educational system.
