The UWI leads the Global University Consortium on SDG 13 - Climate Action

The UWI has been nominated SDG13 Cluster Lead as part of the International Association of Universities' (IAU) Thematic Cluster on Higher Education and Research for Sustainable Development (HESD). This Cluster comprises 17 SDG higher education teams that will work together to advance the 2030 development agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Cluster will foster a deeper understanding of the SDGs at tertiary level in multidisciplinary and international ways and is expected to generate new collaborative projects and other initiatives. 

The Global University Consortium on SDG 13 has been activated! Led by The University of the West Indies, the Consortium comprises 11 universities representing every corner of the world: University of Witwatersrand, University of Ghana, University of Waterloo, State University of New York, University of Bergen, University of Bristol, TERI School of Advanced Studies, The University of the South Pacific, and University of Aruba and Universidad de los Andes.
