Youth Resilience, Inclusion & Empowerment (Y-RIE) in the Caribbean Activity

CLIENT: U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)

CONTRACTOR: DAI

COUNTRIES: Grenada, Guyana, St. Lucia

DESCRIPTION:

The Youth Resilience, Inclusion & Empowerment in the Caribbean Activity, launched in Grenada, Guyana, and St. Lucia, addresses the high rates of interpersonal violence and crime among youth in the Caribbean. The initiative aims to engage youth and key populations as partners while integrating interventions at national and sub-national levels to strengthen resilience against crime and violence and foster safer, more prosperous communities. The project focuses on enhancing social services for vulnerable populations, delivering targeted education, psychosocial support, and market-relevant skills to youth. It also seeks to improve access to productive and inclusive development opportunities while supporting family and community-based interventions.

The CCJS plays a key role by providing both long-term technical assistance (LTTA) and recurring short-term technical assistance (STTA). CCJS collaborates with DAI staff and local counterparts to implement strategies and interventions in targeted areas. This includes conducting specific assessments to evaluate programs, strengthen the evidence base, and systematise existing initiatives for long-term impact.
