Skills Laboratory
Residents have access to a skills lab on the second floor of the HWFMU, which has a virtual reality stimulator Lap Sim TM Surgical Science Sweden. This is a computerised training system with didactics and video instruction, from basic fundamentals of minimal access surgery, up to complex gynaecological procedures like Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy.
There is also a 3D-Med box stimulator to practice laparoscopic suturing and a desktop computer for running the simpraxisTM program and accessing other online learning options on the internet for example surgeryU from AAGL .
