Hurricane Irma reached its maximum intensity of 155t knots when it was located at 70 n miles east-southeast of Barbuda. It hit Barbuda as a category 5 hurricane. Fishing sector was also affected. 12 persons had to be rescued. Brought 15ft of waves , up to 7 inches of rain and hurricane force winds. 350 persons sought relief in public shelters
