UWI SODECO – Solutions for Developing Countries
UWI SODECO is an international research entity which provides Solutions for Medicine (SFM) and Solutions for Society (SFS). Specifically, SODECO focuses on medical research; convenes partners for developing socio-economic solutions; and works to rehabilitate and protect coastal forests toward improved resilience to climate change.

Global University Consortium
The UWI is the institutional leader for SDG 13 within the Global Cluster on Higher Education and Research for Sustainable Development. This Consortium brings together 11 universities across six geographic regions to coordinate climate action activities among universities and development partners at all levels.
The Association of Commonwealth Universities
Universities are the key to healthier, greener, fairer societies. The ACU, with its membership of an estimated 500 institutions in over 50 countries recognises the critical role of Higher Education in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through research, teaching and community engagement.
International Association of Universities (IAU)
The UWI is the IAU’s global leader in the mobilisation of higher education and research for the achievement of a climate-smart and resilient world. The IAU's Higher Education for Research and Sustainable Development initiatives promote the role of universities in the achievement of Agenda 2030 and the SDGs.
Race to Zero
The UWI is a signatory to the Race to Zero, a global campaign to rally leadership and action in the education sector toward a zero-carbon world. The Race to Zero is powered by the UN Environment Programme, EAUC & Second Nature.
Strategic Initiatives
The Office of Global Affairs manages strategic programmes and projects in the areas of knowledge brokerage, Climate Smart Development, and Blue Economy. The OGA also manages collaborative agreements with partners across the globe.
