The ISDJ combines The UWI's two decades of experience and excellence in online education with its steadfast commitment to the SDGs and its global recognition as a leading producer of knowledge on SIDS, making it a pioneering institution in this field. The institute is a key global initiative of The UWI with Pro Vice-Chancellor, Global Affairs, Ms. Sandrea Maynard serving as the first CEO and President.
The ISDJ is on a mission to dynamically fuse sustainability, social justice and environmental responsibility with the core tenets of modern business practice. See us revolutionise education, empower learners and foster a positive sustainability impact on the global stage.
Since 1993, The Latin American-Caribbean Centre (LACC) has facilitated strategic engagement between The University of the West Indies (The UWI) and the Latin American and Caribbean regions. We help build bridges of understanding and cooperation between Latin American and Caribbean countries to frame higher education strategies for sustainable regional development and strengthened community relations.
LACC's work is organised across networking, capacity-building and other strategic actions for internationalization, coordination and revenue generation. Through this agenda, LACC facilitates The UWI’s forging of sustainable and impactful partnerships with tertiary level institutions and networks, governments and agencies within Latin America and the Caribbean.
