3UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS IMPACTED BY THE 2014/2015 GRADING POLICY


New Students

Students who entered the university in academic year 2014/2015 and subsequent years who are enrolled in programmes governed by GPA regulations will follow the guidelines of the 2014/2015 Grading Policy.


Returning/Continuing Students

The 2014/2015 Grading Policy will impact most returning or continuing students who were registered prior to 2014/2015 academic year. This includes students pursuing first degrees, associate degrees, diplomas or certificates and who have received grades under previously existing GPA regulations. Also impacted are students enrolled in programmes where the pass mark is already at 50% however, their Degree GPA and Cumulative GPA values carried forward from the previous grading policy will not be converted.


Re-entry Students

Grading for Re-entry students entering the university in academic year 2014/2015 and subsequent years will follow the guidelines of the 2014/2015 Grading Policy. For students reentering to complete a programme of study, a conversion method will be applied to the Degree GPA and Cumulative GPA values carried forward from the previous grading policy. For students reentering into a new programme of study, credits and exemptions where applicable will be granted towards the new degree. Credits and exemptions granted for advanced level courses will not be included in the GPA calculations.

4UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS NOT IMPACTED BY THE 2014/2015 GRADING POLICY?


Faculty of Engineering – St Augustine and Mona Campuses

Undergraduate students enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering prior to the 2014/2015 academic year will not be impacted by the 2014/2015 Grading Policy change. Those Engineering students will be governed by the grading policy regulations dated 2011/2012 until the end of the academic year 2016/2017. New Students entering the Faculty of Engineering from academic year 2014/2015, however, will be governed by the 2014/2015 Grading Policy.


Students Enrolled in programmes not governed by GPA regulations

Undergraduate students enrolled in programmes not governed by GPA regulations are not impacted by the 2014/2015 grading policy.
