16IMPACT OF 2014/2015 GRADING POLICY ON GATE FOR FUNDING
Qualification for GATE funding is based on each student’s Grade Point Average for the previous academic year. Consequently, the granting of GATE funding for the 2014/ 2015 academic year has been determined based on academic performance for the 2013/2014 academic year, as evaluated under the previous grading policy regulations. Qualification for GATE funding for the 2015/2016 academic year will be determined based on academic performance for the 2014/ 2015 academic year, as evaluated under the 2014/2015 Grading Policy.
Because the new 2014/2015 Grading Policy is being introduced at the beginning of an academic year, there will be no overlap between the academic performance evaluation used to determine funding from the last year of the previous policy and the academic performance evaluation for the 2014/2015 academic year under the new policy. Students’ academic performance under the new policy will be used to determine Gate funding qualification for the upcoming academic year 2015/2016. Effective 2015/2016, Gate will therefore require a minimum GPA of 2.00 to qualify for funding.
