SUNY UWI Leadership Team
The SUNY UWI Center for Leadership and Sustainable Development was officially launched in 2016.
On establishment, an Advisory Board consisting of representatives from both the State University of New York (SUNY) and The University of the West Indies (The UWI) was convened to provide strategic and policy direction for the Centre.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors comprises the following members:
Vice-Chancellor of The UWI, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, and Dr. Tod Laursen, Senior Vice Chancellor & Provost of SUNY, Dr. Luz Longsworth, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Principal of The UWI Open Campus, Associate Vice-Chancellor for Global Affairs, Ms. Sally Crimmins Villela, Dr. Stacy Richards-Kennedy, Director of Office of Development, Dr. Jim Malatras, President, Empire State College, Dr. Dale Webber, Pro Vice Chancellor & Principal of The UWI Mona Campus, Dr. Wayne Riley, President of Downstate Medical Center.
The leadership for the Center has transitioned to a new team which includes new faculty and industry experts along with senior executives of both institutions.

Chisholm Center for Equity Studies, Co-Director, SUNY-UWI Center for Leadership and Sustainable Development and Senior Academic Advisor for Academic Affairs SUNY Empire State College, Robert Balkin, Esq., Director, Office for Latin America & The Caribbean, SUNY Office of Global Affairs, Ann Marie Grant, Co-Director, SUNY-UWI Center for Leadership and Sustainable Development and Executive Director, American Foundation for The University of the West Indies and Co-Director, Francesca A. Cichello Executive Director of International Education, SUNY Empire State College, Dr. Emily Dick-Forde, Manager of Special Initiatives, Chair of the Open University Research Ethics Committee, Office of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Principal of The University of West Indies, Open Campus, St. Augustine campus.
The Secretariat remains at Empire State College and is now jointly managed by Ms. Ann Marie Grant and Dr. LaTasha Brown.
New additions to the teams are expected to be confirmed in early 2021.
