Hurricane Ivan 2004 on September 5th, Ivan was a category 1 hurricane located about 930 miles east southeast of Barbados to late on the 7th, regular, relevant and reliable information on Ivan was disseminated. Between the late morning and early afternoon Sunday September 5th Ivan underwent rapid intensification to become the fourth major hurricane of the season.
