External Resources Data Protection Laws - Montserrat

As at February 2025, Montserrat has not enacted comprehensive data protection legislation. However, the Constitution of Montserrat (https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2010/2474/contents/made?) provides for the protection of individuals' privacy rights, particularly concerning the privacy of one's home and property. In the absence of specific data protection legislation, certain measures have been implemented to address privacy concerns. For instance, Section 9, titled "Restriction on publication," of the Statistics Act (Act No. 2 of 1973) (https://statistics.gov.ms/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Statistics-Act.pdf) mandates that the Statistics Department and its staff ensure the confidentiality of information collected.
