Dr Willie Clarke-Okah has spent over 40 years in international development and education. He is no stranger to Jamaica or UWI. He was the Counsellor & Head of Development Cooperation at the High Commission of Canada in Jamaica until he left in 2006 to join the Commonwealth of Learning as its higher education and policy development specialist. He has supervised and co-supervised graduate students at UWI. In 2017, he was invited to participate as an international expert observer of the year-long CARICOM Technical Working Group on Tertiary Education. His research interests are in donor-government partnerships in international development and effective teaching and learning in HEIs. Dr Clarke-Okah holds a PhD in educational studies from McGill University.
