Damage: Severe flooding occurred from wave action; 20 -33 inches of rain fell over a 48 hour period. Government declared disaster to affect over 490 families
Antigua: This left to severe landslides in the northwest and southern side of Antigua with roads being eroded and washed away in two places. Bridge also washed away. Drainage channels became clogged and there was flooding. Approx. 20,000 left without safe drinking water. Several hotels flooded and severe beach erosion

Damage: Storm which was a category 2 with winds of 160 km caused widespread damage in both Islands. Flooding of major roads occurred. Initial assessments estimated 2000 persons were severely affected and evacuated their homes. 18 persons were hospitalized and 500 left homeless. 815 homes suffered roof loss and damage. The telephone and electricity service was also disrupted, with 50% of the telephones out of service and 90% of the country without electricity. Significant amount of debris generated as a result of storm. 2 shelters were left damaged

Impact : Extensive Damage: 3 schools were damaged (1 extensively). Damage was mainly to roofs. The All Saints Police Station was also damaged. It is estimated that 10-20% of the housing sector has been adversely affected.
Disruption of Electricity and telephone services as a number of electric and telephone poles fell during the passage of the hurricane. Several roads have also been blocked by trees. A number of radio stations went off the air.
