About Dr. Adom Philogene Heron

Adom Philogene Heron (https://www.gold.ac.uk/anthropology/staff/heron-adom-/) (PhD, Anthropology, St Andrews 2017) is lecturer in anthropology at Goldsmiths, University of London. An ethnographer by training, his work focuses on social and community responses to storms in Dominica; as well as Caribbean cosmologies; family and kinship; and modes of post-plantation repair. Adom is Principal Investigator on the GCRF funded Caribbean Cyclone Cartography - a collaborative investigation of post-hurricane Maria recoveries in Dominica. The project uses mixed methods to investigate hurricane resilience from below; using oral history, architecture surveys, ethnography, water security interventions, GIS and arts residencies.
