About Dr. Charlotte Monteil
I conducted a PhD research with the University of East Anglia on post-disaster recovery, exploring the role of social capital and memory for long-term recovery in Montserrat (Caribbean) after a series of volcanic eruptions between 1995 and 2010. I used an ethnographic approach with about 10 months of fieldwork for interviewing actors of the recovery process among different ranges of the population, including native and immigrant people, decision-makers and disaster management organisation.
I am now working with Lancaster University and the CRIOBE (France) to understand the effects of environmental changes on food systems.
