About Professor Roger Few
Roger has 25 years’ experience working on the connections between risk, environment and development in more than 20 countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia. His expertise is particularly on risk and recovery related to natural hazards, but he has also worked on health risk and epidemics, and more recently on complex emergencies. In his time in UEA, he has led or co-led around 30 collaborative projects funded by a wide range of academic funders and international agencies, including UKRI/GCRF, IDRC, EU, DFID, USAID, DANIDA, and UNDP. Recent consortium-scale projects have included the NERC-funded STREVA project (2012-2018) on volcanic risks in Latin America and the Caribbean, and the IDRC-funded ASSAR project (2014-2018) on vulnerability and response to climatic risks in semi-arid lands.
