About Dr. Matthew Bishop
Matthew is Senior Lecturer in International Politics at the University of Sheffield, UK. He previously worked at the Institute of International Relations at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad (2009-2016). His primary area of research interest is the political economy of development, with a particular focus on small states in general, and the Caribbean specifically. He has also worked variously on issues relating to trade policy, climate governance, globalisation, democratisation, sovereignty and regional integration, as well as, increasingly, issues relating to drugs and violence. Matthew's work has appeared in various international journals, including World Development, New Political Economy, Review of International Political Economy, Journal of Development Studies and Review of International Studies.
