THE CARIBBEAN POST-COVID ECONOMY

On August 12, 2021, ViceChancellor Beckles led a discussion with the President of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), Dr. Gene Leon. The objective was to strengthen alignment between the strategic priorities of the Caribbean’s development bank and the region’s leading university. Key university stakeholders such as Secretary-General of CARICOM, Dr. Carla Barnett, also attended the event.

In the context of the Caribbean’s post-COVID recovery efforts, the two organisations have found common ground in supporting innovative solutions, new development approaches and large-scale investments in critical economic, digital and social transformations.

The CDB and The UWI have ongoing partnerships that support the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
