Professor Violet Eudine Barriteau, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the Cave Hill Campus, was awarded Barbados' highest national honour, The Order of Freedom, during the country's 53rd independence celebrations in November 2019. The honour was conferred in recognition of her contributions to tertiary education and pioneering leadership in the development of gender studies and the promotion of gender equality.
