Since the signing of a Proclamation by then President George W. Bush in 2006, the month of June is celebrated annually as Caribbean American Heritage Month in the USA. During a conversation in commemoration of Caribbean American Heritage Month 2020, Vice-Chancellor Beckles shared his perspective on the contributions of Caribbean people and their descendants to the development, history and culture of the USA in a virtual forum hosted on June 23, 2020. It was moderated by award-winning journalist Felicia Persaud.
