Global donors funding climate smart leadership

As a Climate-smart Leader, The UWI secured USD 160,000 funding in June 2020 from an Open Society Foundation grant to support the university's institutional leadership on Climate Justice and Resilience. UNDP also committed USD 100,000 towards a joint UNDP-UWI Public Policy Think Tank on the Blue Economy within the framework of the renewed UWI-UNDP MoU. A USD 500,000 proposal is also under consideration by the Caribbean Climate Smart Accelerator for a project entitled "Building Capacity for Climate-Smart and Resilient Development".
