AFUWI Gala in New York

The American Foundation for The University of West Indies (AFUWI) held its 22nd annual gala event at the Pierre Hotel in New York City in February 2019. The three-fold purpose of the much-anticipated formal event is to raise funds for scholarships, to honour persons of Caribbean heritage who have made contributions to the region and to the diaspora, and to bring together alumni, partners and key supporters.

• Dr. the Hon. Hubert Minnis, Prime Minister of the Bahamas
• The Hon. Sharlene Cartwright Robinson, Premier of the Turks & Caicos Islands
• H.E. Penelope Beckles, Trinidad and Tobago's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and President of UN Women.
