Petipha Lewis
CARICHAM

Petipha Lewis is a Grenadian national, who currently serves as Chair of the Network of Caribbean Chambers (CARICHAM), and Executive Director and Secretary to the Board of Directors of the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce. 

Ms. Lewis has a passion for sustainable development and the preservation of our earth for future generations. She serves as, Vice Chair of the Grenada Sustainable Development Trust Fund and represents Grenada on the board of the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund. She serves on the National Steering Committee of the GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP), funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) which focuses on environmental and livelihoods for communities. She is appointed to the Programme Steering Committee of the Climate Smart Agriculture and Rural Enterprise Programme (SAEP), as well as the Education Sector Plan Steering Committee, of the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports, and Culture. She has worked closely with the Department of Fisheries, Grenada, to develop a communication plan for the Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). 

Ms. Lewis holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of the West Indies and is also an Accredited Director with certification received from the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada. She has over thirty-nine (39) years’ experience of working in both the private and public sectors. She operates at a senior managerial level and as a management consultant and events planner. She is also a part-time tutor at the UWI Open Campus in Grenada. She has conducted and organized numerous training workshops, meetings, media conferences, annual awards and dinners, luncheons, and other events. As part of a team, she has successfully organized and coordinated conferences both locally and internationally. 

As Executive Director of the Chamber, she has been credited with effectively restructuring the finances of the organization and has played a key role in the growth of the membership, improvement of services and advocacy initiatives in the interest of the private sector. She currently serves as the Deputy Chair of The Trade Facilitation Task Force, and as a Director of the Bureau of Standards in Grenada, playing a meaningful role in the delicate balance of creating wealth while preserving the environment.
