After completing her BSc in Zoology and Botany at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Keisha Sandy began working in coral reef research and management in Tobago.  This sparked her passion for marine life and management of natural resources.  In 2005, a mass coral bleaching event in the Caribbean turned her attention to one of the greatest threats facing the region- climate change.  She obtained her masters in this field and went on to work at several organizations building awareness of and helping communities to adapt to climate change in the Caribbean.  She has piloted and pioneered several vulnerability reducing tools and has helped more than 15 Caribbean community-based organizations to develop enterprises that use natural resources sustainably. She has also successfully developed funding proposals for several organizations in both social and environmental development and has managed projects for more than 10 years.

Keisha provides expert advice, support, and assistance in the fields of climate change, resilience, and environmental sustainability. She is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling knowledge-based services and products in said domains within the Caribbean context. She cooperates, collaborates, and engages in networking with experts in industry and academia to build the capacity of the national societies.
