Hurricane Allen passes just north with 130mph winds on Aug 4th from the ESE it caused US $ 16.3 million in damage. In total 20,000 people were affected and 500 people homeless. St. Vincent experienced the outer southern fringes of the storm. Torrential rains caused damage to agriculture.

On the 17th September 1967 Hurricane Behulah Hit causing 18'' of rain in 12 hours. There were 2 deaths as a result and US $ 4.5 million in damage.

Hit on the 23rd September 1955 and leveled the area with 115mph winds. 122 persons died. The storm caused fatalities in Barbados numbered 38 and in the Grenadines 122. Property damage was in excess of $2,800,000.
