Hurricane Tomas 2010

Hurricane Tomas formed off the coast of West Africa as a strong tropical wave on 24 October 2010. Trinidad and Tobago suffered damaged as they were hit by the tail end of Tomas as it passed on the 31 October 2010. According to a report from the Trinidad Guardian Newspaper, “Hurricane Tomas caused severe flooding and landslides in both Trinidad and Tobago.” In Tobago, 13 landslides were reported in areas such as Mt. St. George, Mason Hall, Moriah, Betsy’s Hope, Argyle and Pembroke and nine areas were flooded. Areas affected by flooding in Tobago were
