Hurricane Alma 1974

Tropical Storm Alma of 1974 made landfall on Trinidad on August 14 with estimated winds of 74 km/h. However, wind gusts of 91km/hr were measures in Matura and 147 km/h in Savonetta. Damage was extensive, especially along the strip from Plum Mitan to California. The storm was responsible for one death directly and another indirectly in its passage over Trinidad. 50,000 people were affected and damage estimated at 5,000, 000 USD.
