Tropical Storm Earl 2004

Tropical Storm Earl unleashed heavy rains and violent winds in the Eastern Caribbean. In Grenada several hundred people fled their homes in low-lying areas of Grenada and moved to shelters set up in schools. Winds tore off at least 13 roofs throughout Grenada and flooding was reported in western Grenada, McIntyre said. One nursing home also was evacuated, and more than 30 residents were moved to a shelter. No injuries were reported. Additionally, 6 electrical poles were blown down, 9 landslides plus 3 rock falls occurred on the mainland. ON the sister isle of Carriacou 6 roofs were blown off while 13 were partly blown off. Flooding was reported in River Road, Beausejour in St. Georges North West as well as parts of Carriacou.
