April 28, 1972 Farmers of Canal #2 have been having steadily rising water on their farmlands since April 28. heavy rainfall has been experienced and has caused flooding in many areas. The water was coming primarily from Crown Lands which was supposed to be drained by the Potos Koker which had been blocked since the previous year. One farmer has 2.43 hectares of cane under water. April 4, 1972- Flooding Flooding was caused by heavy weekend rainfall which caused a breach in the Conservancy Dam at the back of these Villages. The main breach was about 15 ft. wide. It was sealed on Sunday but quickly gave way again because of the continuous rainfall. Impassable roads made the situation worse because they weren’t able to get access to fix the breach. 1500 families were affected, villages and farms were flooded.
