The Sir Arthur Lewis Centenary Lecture - 23 November 2015

Delivered by Sir Hilary Beckles, Vice Chancellor of the UWI

BFUWI and the Ramphal Institute, King's College, are pleased to announce a lecture by Sir Hilary Beckles, Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies to mark the centenary of  the birth of Sir Arthur Lewis.  Sir Arthur was a distinguished son of the Caribbean who was born in Saint Lucia in 1915.  He was awarded the Nobel Prize for economics in 1979 and  had  a  long and distinguished career which included serving as Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies.  It is fitting therefore that Sir Hilary Beckles, the new Vice Chancellor of the UWI, should present this lecture on

'The economics of Black freedom, reparation and anti-colonial development'

The lecture will be held at King's College Strand Campus in the Anatomy Lecture Hall, London WC2R 2LS from 6.30 to 8.30 pm.
