The Office of the Pro Vice Chancellor Planning and Development has University-wide primary responsibility for coordinating the preparation, implementation, monitoring and assessment of the University’s Strategic Plan. It also coordinates efficiency studies and prepares productivity reports to inform operational and strategic planning efforts.
As part of the University’s development agenda, the Office functions in designing, monitoring and evaluating the University’s major development plans and programmes - whether academic, infrastructural or financial. The PVC Planning and Development works closely with the Vice Chancellor and other members of the Executive Management team in monitoring Strategic Plan related project development with multi-sectoral, regional and international agencies and also seeks to preserve a positive relationship with these agencies.
The resourcing of the University’s vision is crucial to its realization, and in relation to this the Office of the PVC Planning and Development plays a major role in identifying funding needs for Regional University programmes. It also drives UWI’s partnership-building thrust with key international donor agencies, universities and the Diaspora communities. The Office of Planning and Development is an integral part of the Vice Chancellery located on the St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad and linked to other campus offices at Mona, Jamaica, and Cave Hill, Barbados.
