PROFESSOR OF POLITICAL ECONOMY

The Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES) at the University of the West Indies, Mona, invites applications for the post of Professor of Political Economy. Potential candidates should possess a PhD in economics, political economy, international economics or related discipline and have an excellent track record of research and publishing in established journals.

Fields of specialization could include some combination of international political economy and international trade law, the economics of development, Caribbean economic policy, Caribbean economic history, and the political economy of small states and sustainable development.

The successful candidate would be expected to lead innovative research projects with particular emphasis on  the Caribbean and its place in the contemporary world economy; develop trans-national networks of scholars to  enhance policy debates on contemporary and future Caribbean development; and play a leading role in building the research and teaching capacity of SALISES.
